Housing Outreach: BOSS – (Brent Outreach Street Service)
The BOSS project will meet all customers referred to them at their sleeping location on the street, parks etc. Ongoing support and services are available to these individuals within CHC where a full assessment of need and an agreed support plan is actioned.
BOSS is a partner in NSNO (No Second Night Out), a project created as part of the Mayor of London’s commitment to end rough sleeping in London by the end of 2012. It is being piloted in London and has the aim of trying to ensure that no one is living on the streets of London by the end of 2012, and also that no one finds themselves on the street sleeping rough for more than one night.
BOSS works directly with CHC’s Route 18 Winter Shelter Project as the only referring provider. The shelter is available from December to March inclusive, where Churches/Mosques open their doors at night offering food and shelter to street homeless people. During the day time CHC provides casework facilities to these customers e.g. housing advice and support.
CADS Outreach: Floating Support Services
Our Floating Support Service offers general counselling and support to residents of Brent whose lives have become complicated by the misuse of alcohol or drugs. The service is provided in the customer’s home and primarily addresses the issue of tenancy sustainment, looking at factors which can affect this, as well as their alcohol and drug use.
